Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Mifasuse, a legal entity registered in the Republic of Turkey and the operator of Vistara ("we", "us", "our"), handles information in connection with the Vistara desktop application and the website at vistara.video. Vistara is a desktop application that runs on your computer and is designed to keep your media and transcripts on your device.

What we collect

Nothing during normal use

Your audio, video, transcripts, subtitles, and proper-noun lexicons stay on your device. Vistara performs transcription (Whisper) and translation (MiniMax M2.7) locally, using your CPU and GPU. We never receive, store, or have access to the content you process with Vistara.

Telemetry (opt-in/opt-out)

When telemetry is enabled in Settings → Telemetry, the app sends anonymous error events containing: the error message, redacted file paths (personal identifiers such as your home directory and operating-system username are stripped via regex before send), the Vistara version, the OS family (macOS or Windows), and the Python error class. Events do not contain personal identifiers, audio, video, or transcript content. Events are delivered to our internal Slack channel for triage and are retained for no more than 90 days.

License validation

When you activate a paid Vistara Pro license, your license key is sent to Lemon Squeezy's API for verification. We do not store the raw key on our servers. After a successful activation, an activation token is persisted locally on your device's operating-system keychain (macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager).

Trial marker

To enforce one free trial per device, Vistara stores a SHA-256 hash of stable hardware identifiers in your operating-system keychain. This hash is generated and used locally only and is never transmitted off your device.

What we don't collect

Vistara has no user accounts and the website at vistara.video does not set cookies (Tailwind CDN, used for styling, does not set cookies for visitors). We do not run analytics on either the desktop app or the website. We do not collect content of any kind, advertising IDs, IP-based tracking identifiers, or device identifiers beyond the locally-stored trial-marker hash described above.

Third parties

• Lemon Squeezy acts as our Merchant of Record and handles billing, payment processing, tax calculation, and subscription management. Their handling of billing data is governed by their privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
• GitHub hosts the Vistara installer binaries and release artifacts. When you download Vistara, GitHub may collect technical information as described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Your rights

• You can disable telemetry at any time in Settings → Telemetry. Once disabled, no further error events are sent.
• You can cancel your Vistara Pro subscription at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal linked from your purchase receipt.
• You can request deletion of telemetry data we hold by contacting us at the address below; deletion is limited to data still within the 90-day retention window.
• Lemon Squeezy billing records are governed by Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy. For deletion of billing data, contact Lemon Squeezy directly.

Children

Vistara is not directed at users under 13 years of age (in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) or under 16 years of age (in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

International transfers

The data we hold is minimal: error telemetry and, where applicable, billing records held by Lemon Squeezy. Our internal infrastructure for telemetry is hosted in the European Union. Lemon Squeezy operates internationally; their international transfer practices are described in their privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Substantive changes will be announced via the in-app update banner in Vistara, and the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
